I was interested in attempting to print your light sheet microscope
and fluorescence incubator microscope and I was wondering if you had
any suggestions on filaments to use and/or specific optics, lasers,
and filters that you suggest. Any information that you would be
willing to provide would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there,

for printing we used mostly PLA, but if for incubator, we used PETG, they are more temperture resistance.

for optics, Thorlabs or Edmund provide quite standard components with good quality, the same for fluorescence filters

we used currently a lot of OEM components, e.g. Optics, filter and Lasers. If you are intersted on the OEM components, you can also write us for more details

Hey m.conroy! Thanks a lot for reaching out! To be honest, I have not printed any cubes since we have the injection molded version. They are made out of glass-stratified ABS which is very stable and much more durable in incubators than e.g. 3d printed parts made out of PLA.

I know that people in ukraine worked on this using a fully 3d printed version, so perhaps it’s wise to have a look at their repo: [GitHub - fluoimlab/SPIM-DoMB: Open-source SPIM microscope for the Department of Molecular Biophysics · GitHub](https://github.com/fluoimlab/SPIM-DoMB)

They also have a wide variety of diferent selections of lasers. In our boxes (e.g. the light-sheet box) you have all the parts nevessary to build one of the microscopes. You can purchase them from here [https://shop.openuc2.com/](https://shop.openuc2.com/) CC: @MakerTobey @wisstock
