Dr. Tobias Wenzel leads a research laboratory at the Institute for Biological and Medical Engineering (IIBM) that studies health-relevant cellular interactions. His team advances bioimaging and droplet microfluidic methods tailored for high-throughput multi-omics screens. Recognising the challenges of real-world applications for novel research technologies, his team also develops low-cost, open-source hardware appropriate for global utilisation. Dr. Wenzel is an active advocate in the global Open Science Hardware movement.
