[Quick Start] Launching ImSwitch in the Browser

Here is some quick-start information on how to access the user interface of your openUC2 system again.

The easiest way is to connect directly via the Raspberry Pi’s Wi-Fi:

  1. Select Wi-Fi: Connect your computer or tablet to the microscope’s Wi-Fi network. The name looks something like this: openuc2-xxx-xxx-0000
  2. Enter password: The password is youseetoo
Open browser: Enter the IP address 192.168.4.1 into your browser’s address bar.
  3. Start ImSwitch: On the landing page that opens, you can select ImSwitch directly and control the goniometer (or any other “APP”).
  4. You should be able to find the apps via the “App Manager” (the toggle switch makes them appear permanently in the sidebar)

Alternatively, after connecting to the Wi-Fi, you can try entering the generic domain name http://openuc2.local/ into your browser instead of the IP address (though unfortunately, this often doesn’t work on Windows).

If you are setting up the system for the first time or want to try alternative connection methods (e.g., via USB-C or Ethernet cable), you can find detailed step-by-step instructions in our documentation: openUC2 Initial Connection – Documentation (Note: The guide uses our “FRAME” system as an example, but the steps for your setup are identical).

Feel free to get in touch if you have any further questions or run into problems connecting!
