If you have troubles with some of the motors/motor drivers like them not powering or you are unsure about choosing the correct pins try this:

First: the orientation of the motor plug doesn’t matter. Flipping it just changes the direction of rotation.

Important is the motor drivers orientation on the pinboard. it schould look like this

Try replacing the motor driver—there’s a spare included in your kit.

Reflash the software.
